October in Review

Hey Guys... it's been a while but we've been busy. Here's our October in review. I will try my hardest to NEVER do this again. OMG... almost 5 hours later and I'm FINALLY done. Enjoy :-)

Richie Rich

The always outrageous Richie Rich ended the Funkshion fashion week on Saturday night.

So there's a story to this chick inside the bowl. This handsome tuxedo-ed guy brought her out and put her in there... I the show was supposed to be for her to decide what she wanted him to buy. LOL. She had a dog in her lap too.

So the guy in the dress had the BIGGEST bubble booty I've ever seen. Geez sir!!!

This show was immediately after the Emerging designer's showcase. I think my camera was dying which is why I didn't get more pictures of this beautiful collection. The dresses were the perfect cocktail moment. Here were some of my favorites.

This chic sequined piece was so effortless... EASY, BREEZY!!!

You can't see the detailing, but the brocade on this jacket was stunning!!!

FGI Emerging Designers Competition

There were 3 new designers showcased at the this October 21st show. Bambina by NV was very Miami- almost swimwear with a few rompers mixed in for good measure. Scarabello very feminine. Lots of sheer, ruffles, and embellishment. Last year's winner, Alfonsina, also showcased. But my very favorite collection, and the winner of the competition was Natallia Pilipenka. Here are some pictures of the collection.

Krel: Flora & Fauna

Funkshion: Miami Beach Fashion kicked off in style on October 20 at the Setai Hotel. The venue was a beautiful floating runway. You can't see it, but there was only a top on the stage so the show was actually outside. The weather was beautiful (until the end). The Flora and Fauna show was whimsy meets mythology. The colorful knits are perfect for Miami.

Whimsy... and methology. The fairy danced around the entire perimeter of the runway throughout the show. Now remember this is water so she was jumping from tree to tree. Very interesting. (pics of that coming up too)

The beast up close. He circulated the room during the show. Anyone who knows me knows I startle easily. So imagine me when this came up behind me. A mess.

The models threw flowers on stage and in the water throughout the show.

End of the show when the fairy finally made it to my side of the room.

It started raining right at the end of the show.... everyone gathered in the hotel lobby and I was standing next to this BEAUTIFUL arrangement of fresh roses. So here they are :)

Art of Haute

The Art of Haute event took place on October 13 at Studio Clout Fine Art Gallery. A quaint experience, showcasing more local talent.

JUNE AMBROSE!!!

So I about DIED when I heard my style guru/goddess/extraordinaire Ms. June Ambrose would be in Miami for any reason.... let alone at the mall right up the street from my apartment. It was a Bali event for JC Penney on October 8, but most of all... it was JUNE AMBROSE!!!!

She told me to pose.... so pose I did. This is the only pic that matters... but I'm biased so here are some others from her shapewear chat.
